The global self-rating measurement of the stimulation-seeking motive was found to correlate at low but significant levels with an inventory-type measure of this motive for 69 females (r = .35) and 65 males (r = .32). Suggestions for improving the global measure were made, and the possible usefulness of this approach for certain classes of research was discussed.
