In Group 1, a male E obtained positive inter-test correlations between EFT and RFT scores. In Group 2, E2 (female) failed to obtain such positive correlations. This discrepancy was explained by the different administrative procedures on the RFT used by the Es. E2's greater number of adjustments of the rod reduced the influence of the embedding context, lessened the field dependence on the RFT, and produced results inconsistent with those obtained on the EFT.
