Abstract
The relationship between choice of which gender is drawn first on the DAP and measures of sex-role identification was investigated in 34 schizophrenic and 34 normally functioning male Ss. The results indicated no significant relationship between choice of gender and sex-role identification scores, thus questioning the usefulness of gender choice as a criterion of sex-role identification. Clinicians should be extremely cautious in assigning interpretive significance to choice of gender on the DAP as reflecting sex-role identification.
