Authoritarianism was hypothesized to have significant loadings on a factor with intelligence, self-esteem, emotionality, and feelings of potency. The results of the factor analysis partially confirmed the hypothesis. Authoritarianism was associated with low grades, low reported IQ, and feelings of impotency. Unlike past studies self-esteem and emotionality were not related to authoritarianism.
