An investigation to establish vibrotactile thresholds on oral and non-oral structures of 10 normal adults was conducted. Thresholds obtained on the lip and tongue were compared with those obtained on the palmar surface. Threshold frequencies within the range of 60 to 600 Hz were used. Results reported in microns showed statistically significant threshold differences among frequencies which are not apparent when the data were reported in dB.
