Abstract
Data based on perceptions obtained from a sample of 56 members of the faculty of Pahlavi University were combined with those obtained in independent studies previously conducted. A comparison was made among the public images of the Reza Shah and Presidents Johnson and Nixon, and perceptions of the ideal self. Consensual perceptions were obtained of former President Johnson, incumbent President Nixon, and the Reza Shah as identical personalities. The ideal self and the ideal U.S. President image were also perceived identically. The two clusters were negatively correlated with each other.
