12 adults with normal speech were tested on a 10-form task of intra-oral form identification (oral stereognosis) under three conditions: forms attached to stainless steel orthodontic wire, forms attached to nylon monofilament, and forms with no attachment device. No significant differences were found among conditions in either response accuracy or time.
