For 37 college-aged females measurements, including body weight, standing height, thigh circumference, and isometric quadticep strength, were determined before and after an 8-wk. progressive resistive exercise program. Thigh circumference changes of the average-weight Ss were compared with those of overweight Ss. The average-weight Ss showed small increases in thigh circumference whereas the overweight Ss showed small decreases.
