The usual methods of Rorschach content analysis used in clinical work are the psychologist's associations, the cookbook approach, and the card as a standard stimulus approach. These methods lead to much speculation in interpretation. An approach is suggested for analyzing content that relies on the patient's associations to his responses. A comparison is made with dream interpretation. This approach was tried with several protocols and the results seem to have a good payoff value.
