A comparative study of time estimation in novice and experienced divers confirms the hypothesis that the more highly stressed novice shows significantly greater variation in consecutive judgments of a 1-min. interval. Novice divers also took longer between taps (M = 1.37 min.) than experienced divers (M = 1.00 min.).
