Abstract
The problem was to examine the relative effects of teaching sports skills with and without an instant replay videotape recorder (VTR). Two random groups (N = 24 and 25) of freshman students at Washington State University were taught a 12-wk. unit in beginning tumbling. The experimental group used the VTR. The posttest-only control group design was used. Evaluation of performance was made by a four-man jury. At the conclusion of the study, the group means were 87.68 and 87.38, clearly not significantly different (p < .05).
