EFT scores for 40 Ss in an 8-hr. isolation experiment were not specifically correlated with stress responses to sensory or social isolation but were correlated with responses to either type of isolation occurring on S's first day at the laboratory. Familiarization with the laboratory on a preceding day reduced the correlations below significance.
