Diagnostic testing of severely disabled readers commonly includes a Keystone Telebinocular Visual Survey. As a part of this survey a visual acuity test was administered both under a standard condition and with an aid to fixation. A difference in scores between the two administrations indicates the presence of at least two sources of score variability, visual acuity and ability to maintain fixation on the visual target.
