It was hypothesized that a significant positive correlation exists between body-image-barrier scores and a “muscular” approach to the world as reflected in a physical fitness score. Adolescent boys and girls were administered group Rorschach tests and a measure of physical fitness. The hypothesis was supported by data for the female group but not by data from the male group. Implications of these findings are discussed.
