Size matches were made by catatonic and non-catatonic schizophrenics at observation distances from 10 to 120 ft. The matches for both groups were identical with each other and with matches made in a previous study by normals. The data are in good agreement with a prediction based on the law of size constancy. It was concluded that size matching behavior for neutral objects in a simple matching task is not affected by schizophrenia.
