3 different discrimination learning tasks were designed on the basis of a new-old principle, i.e., each trial involved one “old” element also present during the preceding trial and one “new” element not present during the preceding trial. Attempts to establish transfer of training between pairs of these tasks yielded no evidence of either facilitation or interference.
