The purpose of this research was to replicate partially a study by Tripodi and Bieri, who found an association between cognitive complexity and the perception of conflict, and to study the relations among Bieri's CC measure, Eysenck's measure of neuroticism, and the perception of conflict. Each of 63 Ss responded to paragraph descriptions of disparate information by rating their degree of perceived conflict on a 20-point scale. The results indicated that CC is significantly associated with the perception of conflict, and it was inferred that there may be an interaction between CC and neuroticism in the perception of conflict.
