Ss diagnosed clinically and psychometrically as depressives were less conforming in a group pressure situation than were normal Ss. This finding was interpreted as an outcome of general social apathy and unresponsiveness among depressives. Results were compared with those of a previous study of anxious Ss tested in the same situation.
