Abstract
As part of a larger field study, 10 Ss estimated the perpendicularity of a flat wire to an undefined road edge, a string to a flat wire, and the flat wire angularly bent. Differences were found between estimations made without a definite baseline (Mangle = 97.9°) and estimations made with a clearer baseline (Mangle = 90.7°). There were no significant differences between conditions where some type of a definite baseline was available.
