Abstract
The study assessed the combined effects of dogmatism and authoritarianism (D-F) on judgments of a series of lifted weights during a training session and an anchoring session. Contrary to expectations based on earlier work with the F scale, high D-F Ss did not differ from low D-F Ss in the number or range of judgmental categories used in the training session. In line with the results of previous studies, high D-F Ss were more resistant to change, i.e., evidenced less contrast effect, when a remote anchor was presented than were low D-F Ss.
