An apparatus has been described which presents pairs of visual stimuli, each member of which competes for the fixation of S in a discrete trial format. An efficient electro-oculographic method to be used in conjunction with the stimulus device for recording and analyzing the visual choice behavior is also described. Two illustrative records are presented to indicate the kind of information which may be obtained by the apparatus.
