Employing a 64-item adjective and phrase check list (ICL modified) with three instructional sets (ideal, I am, doctor is), a group of first-year psychiatric residents were found to differ significantly on patient-therapist role perceptions from a group of hospitalized psychiatric patients on 14 of 24 comparisons.
