Abstract
This experiment was concerned with the relative performance of the preferred and non-preferred hands in right- and left-handed Ss. Self-classified strongly right-handed and strongly left-handed Ss performed a steadiness task with one hand and then the other. Results indicate that, while over-all performance is significantly better with the preferred hand, steadiness cannot be regarded as a sensitive index of handedness. A predicted interaction between handedness and hand preference was significant for male Ss.
