Abstract
Forty-eight Ss were instructed to draw 3-in. lines while blindfolded. Knowledge of results was the verbal response “correct, too long, too short” plus mild electric shock for incorrect responses. The design allowed for comparison of group performances based upon (a) three knowledge of results conditions (immediate, delayed, and none), (b) two intertrial intervals (15 sec. and 35 sec.), and (c) two post-knowledge-of-results feedback intervals (5 sec. and 25 sec.). The data suggest that the only significant variable in operation, with reference to this simple performance task, was that of knowledge of results itself.
