(Benjamin Vaughan was a youthful admirer and close friend of Benjamin Franklin, who was 80 years old when he wrote this letter to Vaughan. The letter press copy of Franklin's communication is in the Library of Congress, but the holograph did not survive. The letter is reproduced here with the original capitalization and spelling.)
