Abstract
Inelastic electron tunneling spectroscopy (IETS) was utilized to study hydridotriosmium decacarbonyl supported on an activated alumina surface. Triosmium dodecacarbonyl was adsorbed under a variety of conditions to give a surface-linked species. The bridging hydrogen observed at 1509 cm is in accord with previous observations. Use of IETS to study supported metal cluster catalysts is critical to the rational design of novel catalysts.
