Abstract
We believe that patient-centered medical homes and associated accountable care organizations are 2 of the most important initiatives facing health care today. Even though the exact role of the pharmacist is still to be determined, health information technology will provide a supporting role for these initiatives. In this technology briefing, we describe our thoughts on the role of the pharmacist and health information technology in these initiatives.
