Abstract
Summa Health System Department of Pharmacy Services performs a workshop based competency program to assess the ability of our clinical staff pharmacists to perform both clinical and distributive functions that are required for practice in our institutions. One day each month is devoted to this program, which consists of several modules designed to measure, sharpen, and update skills. Pharmacists are scheduled to attend one of the sessions each year. The topics change yearly to include current issues in disease state management, patient safety, clinical skills, and pharmacy technology. Modules are led by clinical lead pharmacists and department management.
