Abstract
A number of models have been suggested in the past to understand the design procedures. Improvements in one model over another one usually fills a gap in modelling; however, like the design procedure itself, modelling has a dynamic nature and it constantly needs to be updated according to the needs and requirements of time. This paper will concentrate on modelling today's design procedures and interrelations. A new model to provide a global view to understand the design procedures will be proposed and explained. It is believed that this may help to open the avenues for the production of new tools for designers and design teaching in the future.
