Abstract
It has been found that output has increased as a result of increased interest in the workers and is not necessarily the result of improved working conditions. To this end it is important to develop a management approach that will improve a company's overall effectiveness. A common goal for all the employees must be given where the part each individual must play is detailed.
This paper outlines various approaches that can be used to motivate employees. If they are implemented British industry may be able to raise itself from the bottom of the European industrial league.
