Abstract
This paper presents an internet-based mathematical simulation for predicting the thermal performance of solar air collectors to collect energy used for drying various products. The solution procedure was performed for a flat plate collector and a V-groove absorber. The thermal performance was determined over a wide range of operating conditions, but in the same configuration for the two types of solar collector. The V-groove absorber was found to be more efficient than the flat plate collector. The optimum operating conditions were determined. Comparison between predicted and experimental results indicates that the proposed mathematical model can be used for estimating the thermal performance of solar air heaters with reasonable accuracy.
