Abstract
Abstract
The behaviours of turbulent flow over cavities at low-speed free stream are studied by performing wall pressure measurements. The characteristics of cavities mounted on the wall of a duct are investigated. It was found that an acoustic mode is present. The nature of the acoustic mode and its coupling with hydrodynamic oscillation in the cavity are analysed. Meanwhile, analysis was carried out to identify the oscillation modes in the cavity. A modified semiempirical formula for the model is introduced based on the measurements.
