Abstract
Abstract
In the current paper, initial research results on uncertainty-based closed-loop model-order reduction techniques for flexible systems are detailed. Two uncertainty models to decide what flexible modes to be truncated from the original flexible system model while preserving closed-loop performance are presented. Robust control framework is used with the robust performance criterion to show that the new inverse uncertainty representation of flexible modes gives better closed-loop performance than the more classical additive uncertainty representation adapted, in the current paper, for flexible systems. Simulation based on a three mass flexible model validates the good results of the inverse uncertainty model-order reduction technique.
