This study predicts the modified structural eigenvectors and eigenvalues due to the change in the mass and stiffness of a structure. The sensitivity coefficient is calculated iteratively using the original dynamic characteristics. The method is illustrated by a numerical example of a cantilever beam. An analysis of the mass and stiffness changes was performed and estimates made to predict change amount. The predicted amount changes in natural frequency and in vibration mode were compared, and it was found that the predicted dynamic characteristics using the modified mass and stiffness results showed good agreement.
