A circular disc in a uniform coplanar flow of hot gas (Re = 4000) is used to find radial and circumferential stresses for a solid cylinder. Heat transfer is through a boundary layer. Stresses are given for diameters parallel to and across the flow direction. There is some agreement with an approximate analytical solution. A generalization of the principal results is suggested.
