Abstract
Ultrasound is widely used in small animal veterinary medicine for the investigation of cardiac disease and abdominal disorders. However, non-abdominal non-thoracic ultrasound in dogs and cats currently has a much more minor role in routine diagnostic work-ups. This article, based on a presentation given to the annual BMUS meeting in 2007, aims to provide some insight into the use of diagnostic ultrasound in evaluating the small parts of small patients.
