New measurement technique and model for friction torque in continuous drive friction welding: Engineering oriented voltage–current floating evaluation measurement method and exponential function model of friction torque
Friction torque has been measured successfully using a voltage–current floating evaluation measurement technique. The friction heating process is divided into two stages and analysed. A model of friction torque in continuous drive friction welding at the transition–steady stage is presented and the model can be used to monitor and control the continuous drive friction welding process. The results can be used for numerical simulation of the friction welding process.
