Abstract
In underground mines, miners have to work in a severe conditions with excessive heat, high humidity, noise, poor illumination, vibration, dust, noxious gases, etc. In order to achieve successful extraction of coal, miners perform many unit operations involved in underground coal mining, in which roof dressing plays a significant role with respect to safety and the preparation of coal. A jobspecific study to evaluate the energy expenditure trend for various work positions of three underground coal dressers (classified according to their height) is reported.
