Abstract
Furnace temperature is an important parameter in furnace operations. It influences not only fuel consumption but also furnace throughput. A model which can be used for determination of the furnace temperature at which specific fuel consumption is at a minimum is described. The model can also be used to study the influence of various furnace parameters, such as production rates and combustion conditions, on fuel economy.
