Abstract
Inspection in steel manufacturing is essential for quality control and the effective utilization of data obtained by inspection is very important for the guarantee of product quality to customers. In this paper, the authors summarize briefly the fundamental philosophy and procedures of surface and internal inspection data logging and its application to billets, bars, and wire rods at Kobe Steel.
