The θ projection method and low creep ductility materials

Abstract

The θ projection method of creep analysis produces the poorest projections of creep properties at low strains. This paper describes a modification to the basic curve equation which eliminates this problem. The detailed equations are derived together with the parameter estimation procedures and the new method is shown to give very considerably better descriptions of creep curves. The implications with respect to the projection of properties are discussed.
