A quick and simple technique has been developed for evaluating inhibitor efficacy at a surface which is not significantly shifted from its normal, dynamic equilibrium corrosion conditions. A number of commercial inhibitor formulations have been tested on both clean and precorroded surfaces. Further, the synergistic effect of a commercial cationic polymer and cathodic inhibitor is discussed along with a proposed mechanism of action.
