Abstract
The paper presents the results obtained with test panels of various aluminium compositions after periods of 1, 2, 4 and 10 years’ exposure to a marine-industrial atmosphere at Alicante (Spain) within a programme envisaged for a total duration of 20 years.
The effect of time on weight loss figures and on the depth of pits developed over the corroded surface is discussed. The relationship between weight loss and depth of pits is shown to be semi-logarithmic.
