A technique for the determination of corrosion rates by measurement of polarisation resistance is described. Instrumentation has been developed so that such measurements can be easily made both in the laboratory and in plant applications for on-line corrosion control. Feasibility studies for a variety of possible applications have been undertaken to evaluate the technique.
