Abstract
An experimental technique has been developed for the rapid determination of changes in corrosion rates using the well established Stern–Geary equation. The value of the technique was demonstrated for the corrosion rates of aluminium brass in seawater and in seawater containing 0·01% sodium dimethyl dithiocarbamate for which the corrosion characteristics had been established previously. An instrument based on these principles could be developed for a variety of corrosion measurement application.
