Color flow imaging and duplex Doppler were used to establish normal peak velocities and resistive indices for the radialis indicis. The digital artery of both index fingers were examined in 59 subjects, including both men and women ranging in age from 21 to 65 years of age. Of the 59 subjects, 20 were eliminated from the normal group due to factors that were thought to potentially affect digital artery blood flow. The normal resistive index range was found to be between 39% and 77%. The normal range for peak systolic velocities was between 5.3 and 59.7 cm/sec.
