Abstract

A consensus conference on work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WRMSDs) in sonography was convened to develop industry standards relating to the problem of WRMSDs. The standards developed discuss the role of employees, employers, educators, medical facilities, and equipment manufacturers in reducing the incidence and impact of these injuries on the workforce. Upon adoption of these industry standards, those involved in the process will aid in improving the welfare of sonographers and sonologists.
