Acute kidney injury (AKI) is described as an abrupt loss of function or structural damage, and can variedly present as a simple history of decreased urine output to other uremic complications like bleeding, seizures, and so on. Development of pericardial effusion accompanying AKI is a rare finding. The present case report is of one such subject, where the treatment strategies ricocheted towards being patient-centric rather than conventional methods.
