Employee development has come a long way in the past six decades as physical work has given way to knowledge work. The pandemic has changed the paradigm significantly. Today, HR leaders must figure out how to enable employee development as job roles and employee aspirations and needs keep changing rapidly. They should learn lessons from history and look ahead to see what might happen in view of the emerging trends.
