Abstract
Lee, Chang & Lim (2005) state that the impact of entrepreneurship education in each country is different because of each country’s unique culture with regard to entrepreneurship. Going by the above argument, this research paper intends to make a formal enquiry on whether the above effect holds true for different regions within a particular state. Considering the cultural diversities of the Garhwal and Kumaun regions of Uttarakhand, the article investigates whether the results obtained from the study conducted on factors influencing entrepreneurial mindsets among students in one part of the state hold true for the rest of the state or can there be differences in the impact of factors influencing the entrepreneurial mindset within a state also. Two factors influencing the entrepreneurial mindset of students’ of higher educational institutions (HEIs), namely, the effect of entrepreneurial education and the support of family and friends were taken into account and were measured in two different parts of the same state. The results revealed that in spite of cultural diversities in two regions, no significant difference in the effect of entrepreneurial education and support of family and friends towards entrepreneurship was seen in the Kumaun and Garhwal regions of Uttarakhand.
